Krotz Springs Services for Lucy Higdon David, age 80, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, in the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Chad Bolfa will conduct the service.

Mrs. David, a resident of Krotz Springs, La., died on Monday, June 11, 2012, at her residence in Krotz Springs, La.

Lucy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs where she was a member of the church choir and was involved in many of the church activities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Don Randy and wife, Paula Kimbal David, of Opelousas, La. Derrel Lane and wife, Darleen LaGrange David, of Lafayette, La. her brothers, Rodney and wife, Mary Higdon, of Krotz Springs, La. Joseph Dale Higdon and wife, Jan, of San Diego, California and her sister, Billie Joe Sylvester of Krotz Springs, La.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandi David Meche and husband, Kevin, of Opelousas, La. Don R. David, II and wife, Casey, of Muskogee, Oklahoma Lane Katherine David of Lafayette, La. and four greatgrandchildren, Baylor Paul Meche, Jaxon Russ Meche, Carli Nicole David and Caynen Brock David.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Russell David her parents, Patson and Edith Barras Higdon her brotherinlaw, Jimmy Sylvester her grandchild, Brock L. David and her lifelong friend, Pete Williams.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs, beginning on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until service time.
