Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Lucille Breaux Manuel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Reverend Msgr. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas. Mallory Manuel, Liz Harris, and Pam Lanclos will provide the Readings during the Mass. The gifts bearers will be Leia Sobieralski, Jennifer Richardson, Kelly Lee and Samantha Istre. The musical selections will be provided by Dwight Jordan, Pat Dawson, Connie Beaugh, and Sarah Pulling.

Lucille, age 89, was a native of Lafayette and a longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a seamstress and a homemaker. She was a very devout Catholic and was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two sons: Terry Manuel and wife Vicki of Carencro; and David Manuel and wife Beth of Eunice; one daughter, Linda M. Griffin and husband Walter of Houston, TX; one brother: Lloyd Breaux and wife Fern of Opelousas; Grandchildren: Jennifer G. Richardson and husband Craig of Spring, TX; Kelly M. Lee and husband Darrin of American Fork, UT; Nikalos Manuel and wife Mallory of Arnaudville; Leia M. Sobieralski and husband Nick of Fort Meyers, FL; Paul Manuel and Samantha Istre of Youngsville; and Great Grandchildren: Cameron Richardson, Meagan Richardson, Amelia Lucille Lee, Abigail Lee, Max Lee, Cooper Manuel, Scarlett Manuel, Sawyer Manuel and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Lee Roy Manuel; her parents: Walter and Uranie Noel Breaux; one sister: Bernice B. Thibodeaux; and five brothers: Robert, Curley, Charles, Orci and Leroy Breaux.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018, at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Manuel, Nikalos Manuel, Walter Griffin, Craig Richardson, Cameron Richardson, Darrin Lee, Nick Sobieralski and Clarence Arceneaux.

Monetary donations can be made in memory of Mrs. Lucille to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

The family would like to extend special heartfelt thanks to Concepts of Care Home Health, St. Joseph Hospice and special caretaker CoLinda Abshire.
