OPELOUSAS - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 for Loyce Diane Zeringue in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Dirk Andrepont will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Her creativity and service to others influenced everyone who crossed her path in life. Her service to others will be remembered for volunteering with her children’s parent-teacher association, swim team activities, Girl Scout leader, and years of service with the local Crisis Pregnancy Center. In the early 80s, she worked for Prather Pediatric and Allergy Center and retired in the early 2000s as an Office Manager. Her children and grandchildren will always cherish the memories of her skills as a seamstress with homemade outfits and fun crafts. She made a loving home full of singing, laughter, good food, and faith in the Lord. Her talent, kind spirit, love, and passion to serve others will always be remembered.
She was born on July 24, 1946, in Gadsden, Alabama, and as a young girl, her family moved to the community of Opelousas. In high school, she met Joe, the love of her life. They were married for 52 wonderful years until Saturday, December 30, 2017, when Joe completed his work here and was called to rest. The greatest gift they gave the world was their faith in God, which transferred into a deep love of family and friends. They taught their children and grandchildren how to truly love by how they treated one another.
Diane’s children were blessed to call her their mother. On Friday, October 07, 2023, she was called to enter into the presence of her Lord and Savior. We are thankful for the time that God gave us to spend with her, and while she will be deeply missed here, we trust in our Lord’s glorious plan and rejoice in her being reunited with her Creator and loved ones who have gone before her. We want to thank you all for your prayers and ask you to join us in remembering and celebrating her amazing life.
She is survived by her sister, Frances Kendall Kennison and her husband, Danny; brothers-in-law, Arval Bridges and Lennie Zeringue and his wife, Carol; daughters, Stephanie Zeringue Olivier and Wendy Louise Zeringue Collart and her husband, Franco; son, Joseph Herman Zeringue, III and his wife, Brandi; and grandchildren, Simone Renee’ Olivier, Angelique Ame’e Olivier Chauvin and her husband, Jonathan, Charles Henri Olivier, Marguerite Mone’t Olivier, Robert Emilio Collart, Danielle Elizabeth Collart and Connor Joseph Zeringue; and great-grandson, Theodore Elias Chauvin.
