Louis Stelly

Port Barre - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Louis Joseph Stelly at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015, in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Port Barre, LA. Reverend Daniel Picard will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. Rite of Committal will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Mr. Stelly, age 70, a resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at his residence in Opelousas.

Louis enjoyed being around his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to cook enjoyed listening to his favorite radio station "KBON". He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite football team, The New Orleans Saints.

He is survived by his sons, Cody Stelly and wife, Julie Powers of Youngsville, LA; Richard Stelly and wife, Kimberly Dupre of Port Barre, LA; his daughters, Cheryl Lanclos and husband, Tommy of Port Barre, LA; Pam Castille and husband, Mark of Port Barre, LA; Rachel Marcantel and husband, Robert of St. Landry, LA; Lisa Olinger and husband, Matthew. of Roberts Cove, LA; his brothers, Jim Stelly and wife Virginia of Opelousas, LA; Robert Stelly of Texas City, TX; his sister, Eva Arnaud and husband Ronald of Marrero, LA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Stelly; his parents, Dona Dieu and Ida Lejeune Stelly; his sisters, Gurcie Vidrine, Mary Joyce Stelly Taylor, Lillian Stelly, Debra Ann Aucoin and his brothers, Percy Stelly, Jessie "Buck" Stelly and Dennis Stelly.

Pallbearers will be Cody Stelly, Richard Stelly, Tommy Lanclos, Mark Castille, Robert Marcantel and Matthew Olinger. Honorary pallbearer will be his Godchild, Travis Stelly.
