Louis Guillory

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Louis Guillory at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the funeral service. Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Guillory, age 84, a resident of Opelousas, died on Monday, December 15, 2014, at his residence.

Louis served his country proudly and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. He retired from Dixie Glass after 29 years of service. He loved building gadgets and working with his hands. He enjoyed being outdoors and tending to his vegetable garden. He was an avid Saints football fan. He loved attending family gatherings, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his pets. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Merlene Breaux Guillory, of Opelousas, LA his sons, Carlton Paul Guillory of Opelousas, LA Patrick Guillory and wife, Michelle, of Opelousas, LA Eric Ryan Guillory and wife, Brandy, of Scott, LA his daughters, Claudette DaVille and husband, Carl, of Lafayette, LA Ethel Dupont and husband, Michael, of LeBeau, LA and Yvonne Cormier and husband, Sam, of Youngsville, LA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jared DaVille, Rory DaVille, Caleb DaVille, Mike Dupont, Jr., Lainey Malagarie, Logan Guillory, Christopher Guillory, Kalyn Fontenot, Destiny Guillory and Raegan Guillory and fifteen greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Carlton Guillory and Azile Big Nan Vidrine.
Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
