Donald Louis Duplechain

Funeral Services for Donald Louis Duplechain will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in the the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Krotz Springs, LA.  Pastor Don Disotell will officiate the services.

Donald Louis Duplechain was born on December 13, 1950, in Melville, Louisiana. Donald was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose presence enriched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

As a man who cherished the great outdoors, Donald spent a significant portion of his life engaged in various outdoor activities. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes. With an adventurous spirit and love for nature, he embraced every opportunity to explore the beauty that surrounded him. For over two decades, Donald proudly sold his own crawfish, sharing his passion for seafood with others.

However, Donald's true joy in life came from being with his family. He was not only a devoted husband but also a loving and supportive father to his children.

Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew him and leaves behind a treasured legacy in his surviving family. His son, Donald "DJ" Duplechain and wife, Jessica; his daughter, Brandy Burke and her husband, Joel; his brother, Wayne Duplechain and wife, Karen; Billy Duplechain; James Duplechain and wife, Katie; his sisters, Barbara Duplechain Huff and her husband, Harold and Carol Wiltz.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kimberly Burke, Garette Andre, Layla Duplechain, Gus Conway, and Bentlee Duplechain. 

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Duplechain; his daughter, Tracy Duplechain and his parents, Evan Duplechain and Mary Lou Quebedeaux Duplechain. Although their absence left an irreplaceable void in his life, they were never far from his thoughts.

Donald's warm smile, kind heart, and generous nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will endure through the beautiful memories he created with his loved ones.

In loving memory of Donald Duplechain, let us celebrate a life well-lived and forever hold his spirit in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Krotz Springs.
