Lou Vidrine

Opelousas A funeral service will be held for Lou Rella Vidrine at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, La. Deacon Tom Lindsey will conduct the service. Burial will be held in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Ms. Vidrine, age 90, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

Lou Rella was a longtime waitress at the Palace Cafe. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors are her sisters, Anna Lee Meche of Lake Charles, La. Dolores Guillot of Lake Charles, La. Aline Hidalgo of Opelousas, La. Betty Ardoin and husband, Milbern, of Opelousas, La. her brotherinlaw, Cliff Lavergne and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdie and Aline Fontenot Vidrine her brother, Huelin Pye Vidrine and her sister, Myrtle Lavergne.

Visiting will begin at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, January 3, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
