Loraine Mcdowell

A Mass of Christian Burial for Loraine Marie Perron McDowell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Reverend Father Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at 9:00 a.m. in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

Loraine, age 62, was a native of Church Point and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She passed away on Monday, April 03, 2017, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She enjoyed dancing and playing cards as a past time. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Jim Alcee McDowell of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Fay Loraine McDowell Clark of Walker; and Clara Mae McDowell and fiance', Jack David Dawson of Baton Rouge; her father, John Dempsey Perron of Poplarville, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Stephanie Elizabeth Clark Gillespie and husband, Wavie Dwayne Gillespie; Thomas Elwyn Clark, Kaitlyn Paige Allen, and Chloe' Lynn Dawson; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Maire Grace Clark and Jase Wayne Gillespie.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Clara Marie Comeaux Quiban and stepfather, Antonio Quiban; brother, Joseph Keith Perron; and sister, Paula Ann Perron.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. for the public until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
