Lois Dejean

Opelousas-Funeral service for Lois Beaugh DeJean will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Reverend Daniel Picard will conduct the services.

Mrs. Dejean a native of Church Point, La. and resident of Plaquemine Point, La. was born on September 21, 1914 and died on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7:30 a.m. at Senior Village Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick DeJean and wife, Gwendolyn, of Washington, La. and Joseph Jude Dejean and wife, Cathy Dolson of Maynardville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Billie M. Tully of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Charlotte Ann DeJean and husband, Michael Croke, of McLean, Virginia; William Bart DeJean of Washington, La., Yvette DeJean Yost and husband, Steven Yost, of Coconut Creek, Florida; Miki DeJean of Atlanta, Georgia and two great-grandchildren, Patrick H. Croke and Nicholas P. DeJean. Also, surviving are her sister, Narcille B. Cain of Baton Rouge, La. and her brother, Joseph Malcolm Beaugh and wife, Joycelyn, of Jacksonville, Florida.

Mrs. Dejean is preceded in death by husband of 70 years, Archie DeJean; her parents, Sydney Beaugh and Elizabeth Colligan. Also preceding in death were three siblings, Lola Beaugh Comeaux, Clara Beaugh Busby and Riley Vance Cree Beaugh.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, La. or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
