Opelousas – Memorial Services for Linda Marie McBride will be held at a later date.

Linda McBride, age 74, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her home in Grand Coteau, LA.

Linda was loved by everyone and was very down to earth.  Her Catholic Faith was very important to her.  She previously worked as a cook at Sonny’s Fried Chicken.  She was a caretaker and an extended grandmother with a loving heart to many children.  Linda enjoyed playing bingo, taking selfie pictures, and watching soap operas on tv.  Her favorite color was green.

She is survived by her sons, Nicky Jagneaux of Grand Coteau; Paul D. Jagneaux and wife, Katie of Opelousas; Albert Jagneaux and wife, Nicole of Gramercy; and Simon McBride and wife, April of Mamou; her daughters, Paula Anne Jagneaux of Port Barre; and Angeline Collins Jagneaux of Grand Coteau; her brothers, Jimmie McBride and wife, Candy, of Barbourville, Kentucky; and John Terry McBride of Washington; and her sisters, Betty Walker of Opelousas; and Mildred Stelly and husband, Gene of Opelousas.  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Joseph McBride, Sr. and Emma Courville McBride; her infant son, Joey Joseph Jagneaux; her sister, Elta Smith and her husband, Johnny Smith; her brothers, Alvin J. McBride, Jr., Raymond McBride; and Horace McBride and wife, Virginia Benoit McBride; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia McBride.

The family is accepting monetary donations to defray funeral expenses.
