OpelousasService for Mrs. Lillie Mae LeBleu Guilbeau, age 90, will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Coteau, La. Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.

Mrs. Guilbeau, a native of Church Point and longtime resident of Opelousas, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 9:30 p.m. in Lafayette, La.

Mrs. Guilbeau was a dedicated elementary school teacher for years in Acadia and St. Landry Parishes. She was a member of the Altar Society of Queen of Angels Catholic Church and a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. She was an alumna of Church Point High School Class of 1938 and an alumna of Sacred Heart Academy College. She also greatly enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Burrow and husband, Daryl, of Lafayette, La.; Betty Beard and husband, David, of Opelousas, La.; Carol Segura and husband, Craig, of Wichita Falls, Texas; her brother, Herman LeBleu Teby of Baton Rouge, La. and her sister, Marjorie Lee Arceneaux of The Woodlands, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Edward Burrow, Michael Burrow, Chloe Segura, Caleb Segura, Hannah Segura and Joseph Segura.

Mrs. Guilbeau was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Guilbeau; her parents, Justilien and Ida LeBleu; her brothers, Vance, Milton, Leroy and Ray LeBleu and her sister, Mary Hilda Savoie.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
