Lillian Fontenot

Opelousas- Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Thibodeaux Fontenot will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Rite of Committal and Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice. Msgr. Russell Harrington will officiate the services.

Mrs. Lillian died on December 12, 2020, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Opelousas, at the age of 95.  She was a loving woman who was a professional cake decorator in the 1950’s and a childcare operator throughout the 1970’s and 80’s.  She will be greatly missed by those she cared for as children in addition to friends and family who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Walter Robbie James Fontenot and his wife, Sharon; grandsons, Paul Joseph Fontenot and Matthew James Fontenot; granddaughter, Ann Catherine Seeman and her husband, Robert and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie Seeman; her sister, Lena Fontenot and her husband Bob; her sisters-in-laws, Nettie Duplechain, Vivi Vidrine, Ginger Fontenot, Jenora Cart ; her brother-in-law, John Fontenot and his wife, Jane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Fontenot; her daughter, Annette Marie Artigue; her parents, Ambrose Thibodeaux and Caroline Janise Thibodeaux; her in-laws, Enos Fontenot and the former Gertrude McGee; her sisters, Leola Denson and Lauraine Meaux; her sisters-in-laws, Lois Miller and Verna Mae Courville.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, December 18, 2020, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel in the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.
