Funeral services for Leora Meche Richard will be Monday May 21, 2007 at 2:00pm in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. R.E. Villarrubia, her brother in law and Fr. Wilbur Sonny Brown will conduct the services.

Mrs. Richard, age 77 a resident of Opelousas died Saturday May 19, 2007 at her residence. She was a member of the Active Homemakers, Cowbelles, WBCCI Airstream Club and the Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years; Emery J. Richard of Opelousas, sons; Keith E. Richard and his wife Darlene of Baton Rouge, Duane A. Richard of Denver, CO., daughters; Sherry R. Devillier and her husband Wayne of Opelousas, Gwen R. Darbonne and her husband Stanley of Opelousas, brothers; Leeward Meche and his wife Mary of Mire, Aaron Meche and his wife Zola of Sulphur, Harold Meche and his wife Edna of Mire, sisters; Liz Veronie and her husband Emerson of Lake Charles, Leeverdie Moreaux and her husband Alvin of Thibodeaux, 6 grandchildren; Taryn Daigle, Tonya Monceret, Kimberly Thibodeaux, Ashley Menard, Lance Darbonne and Kelli Richard and also 8 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00pm until 10:00pm and Monday from 9:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:00pm.
