Leona Savoie

Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial for Leona Guidroz Savoie, age 82, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, La., followed by interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Ken Domingue will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Savoie, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Harry TBoy Savoie, of Opelousas, La. her daughters, Shirley Barron and husband, Ray, of Opelousas, La. Annie Fontenot and husband, Jimmie, of Opelousas, La. Karen Castille and husband, Cotton, of Opelousas, La. her brother, James Red Guidroz of Opelousas, La. and her sisterinlaw, Sophie Guidroz of Breaux Bridge, La. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Vicki Richard and husband, Steve, of Opelousas, La. Mitch Barron of Opelousas, La. Jamie Fontenot and wife, Kristy, of Leonville, La. Brad Fontenot of Slidell, La. Stacy Lodrigue and husband, Joey, of Opelousas, La. Jason Castille of Opelousas, La. Blake Castille of Memphis, Tennessee and 4 greatgrandchildren, Ethan Barron, Miranda Richard, Nicholas Richard and Lindsey Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Savoie her daughter, Vicki Savoie her parents, J.D. Margarette Guidroz and her brothers, Frank Guidroz and Francis A. Guidroz.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
