Opelousas - Funeral services for Lenore Jeanette Clark Poole, known to many as "Jeanette", will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 8, 2019, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Reverend Perry Hubbs will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jeanette, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at her residence.

Jeanette was a wonderful cook and collected many recipes throughout her life. She was very proud to have written two cookbooks. She served as historian of the Writers Guild of Acadiana for the past 10 years and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Jeanette will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Hoyet Poole, Jr. and wife, Francine, of Opelousas, LA; and Brett Poole of Opelousas, LA; her daughter, Rebecca Chaisson and husband, James "Chip" Chaisson of Baton Rouge, LA; her brother, Garry Clark, of Rector, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristen Cook and husband, Jacob; Cody Chaisson, Michael Joubert, Tyler Joubert, Aaron Joubert and Stephen Joubert; and her great-grandchildren, Hadley Cook and Carter Cook; a host of nieces and nephews, a special sister-in-law, Carole Poole of Natchez, Mississippi; and her best friends, Sudie Landry and Linda Doucet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyet Poole, Sr.; her daughters, Regina Poole and Marla Poole; her parents, Henry and Pauline Richardson Clark; her sister, Euline Jackson; and her brother, Dennis Clark.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will reopen on Friday, February 8, 2019, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be James "Chip" Chaisson, Cody Chaisson, Jacob Cook, Tyler Joubert, Stephen Joubert and Brent Soileau.
