Lena Woodson

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Lena R. Woodson at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017, in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Rite of Committal and Burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, LA. Reverend Father Jim Brady will officiate the service.

Ms. Woodson, age 95, was a native of Church Point and was a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA. She passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Opelousas.
She loved being outdoors working in her yard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Loretta W. Godeaux (Adam) and Debbie Marks (Jimmy); brother, J. V. Richard; grandchildren: Todd Godeaux (Denise), Melissa Lee (Greg), and Blake Marks (Stacey); and great-grandchildren: Daniel (Angelle) Godeaux, Derek Godeaux, Dylan Lee (Kelsey), Macie Lee, Chloe Marks, and Logan Marks.

She was preceded in death by husband, John Pete Woodson; parents, Vouchere and Elouise Richard; sisters: Lily Lalonde, Nita Hebert, Yvonne Venable, and Geraldine Dugas; and brother, Jim Richard.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 10:30 AM until 2:00 PM. A Rosary service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
