Opelousas - A Gathering of Remembrance will be held for Lena Elizabeth Bower Penland at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Lena, a native of Bay City, TX and resident of Opelousas, LA, died on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at New Iberia Manor South.

Lena was a former employee of Dupre, Carrier, Godchaux Insurance Agency. She enjoyed playing "Pokeno", loved reading and watching TV. Lena will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughter, Terri Penland Goudeau and husband, Darryl K. Goudeau, of Sunset, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer R. and Vera Dell Prothro Bower.
