Lela Rodriguez

Melville Funeral services for Lela C. Rodriguez will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church in Melville. The interment will take place at the First Baptist Cemetery in Melville. Rev. Sam Ham will conduct the services.

Mrs. Rodriguez, age 57, a resident of Melville, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 4:08 a.m. at her residence.

She was a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Willie Lee Rodriguez, Jr. of Melville her daughters, Sandra Rodriguez Barker of Melville Shelly Rodriguez Taylor of Lafayette her sister, Brenda C. Pitre of New Iberia her brothers, Shane Tate of Sunset and Patrick Daigle of Pearland, TX seven grandchildren, Amber Taylor, Patrick Taylor, AlexisLexy Barker, Aaron Barker, Abigail Rodriguez, Rena Rodriguez and Willie Bop Rodriguez.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Willie Rodriguez, Sr. her son, Michael Blake Bourque her mother, Velma G. Comeaux and her father, A.B. Cummings.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m.
