A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Lee L. Richard at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Morrow, LA. The Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Peters Church Cemetery.
Lee Richard, who was born in Ville Platte, LA and was a resident of LeMoyen, LA, died at his home on Sunday, June 1, 2014.
Mr. Richard was a dairy and crop farmer by trade. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He served his community on the St. Landry Parish Police Jury for 2 terms and was a member of the American Legion Post 305 in Morrow, LA. Lee will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Callie Thibodeaux Richard of LeMoyen, LA sons, David Lee Richard and wife Debbie of LeMoyen, LA, Gary Anthony Richard, Blaine Lawrence Richard and wife Sylvia of Arkansas, James Curt Richard and wife Antoinette of LeMoyen, LA, Randy Joseph Richard and wife Terri of LeMoyen, and Charles Wayne Richard and wife Sheila of Ville Platte, LA daughters, Karen Marie Juneau and husband Ted of Evergreen, LA, Dona Lynn Morain and Edward of Lebeau, LA and Pamela Marie Ewing and husband Dirk of LeMoyen, LA brothers, Elie Richard, Jr. and wife Jeanette of West Lake, LA and Elson Richard and wife Susan of Baton Rouge, LA sisters, Zeola Richard Morain and husband Raymond of Baton Rouge, LA, and Rosa Belle Richard and husband Wilson Bernard of West Lake, LA 26 grandchildren 49 great grandchildren and 3 greatgreat grandchildren.
He is preceded in death his maternal grandparents, Papa and Mama Guillory parents, Elie and Elita Guillory Richard, Sr. sister Luna Richard Fontenot grandchildren, Todd Kent Richard and Dirk Lynn Ewing, Jr.
Pallbearers will his sons and grandsons.
Visiting will be held in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home in Opelousas on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 2:0010:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. until noon and visiting will resume at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Morrow, LA from 1:00 2:00 p.m. Mass time. A rosary will be lead by Deacon Scott Peyton on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
