Lee Faul

July 14, 1926 — June 17, 2017

Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Lee R. Faul will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Reverend Fr. James "Jim" Brady will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Readers for the Mass will be Rachel Diesi Stari and Kaili Capone Broussard. Gift bearers will be Chandler Stari, Mary Elise Stari, Madelyn Broussard, and Lily Broussard. Musical selections for the Mass will be sung by Valerie Andrus.

Lee, age 90, was a native of Coulee Crouche and a longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country in the Philippines during WWII. He was the owner of Lee Faul Financial Services for many years and known to his many customers as Lee "Santa Clause" Faul.

He was a parishioner and served as a Eucharistic Minister of St. Landry Catholic Church. He was a former parishioner and lector of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas for 50 years and served as Past President. He also volunteered for many community services. He loved to play golf, watch football and game shows on television. He cherished his time spent with family and friends while on vacation. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two daughters, Becky Diesi and husband, Sammy of Opelousas; and Lynn Burkhalter of Scott; one brother, James "Jim" Faul of Carencro; two sisters, Annabel Faul Comeaux of Carencro; and Velma Faul of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Rachel Diesi Stari, Chris Diesi, and Kaili Capone Broussard; and four great-grandchildren, Mary Elise Stari, Chandler Stari, Madelyn Broussard, and Lily Broussard. He also has a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Ortego Faul; his parents, Sidney Faul and Emma Prejean Faul; four brothers, Honore' Faul, Austin Faul, Easton Faul, and Ivy Faul; two sisters, Eva Faul Billeaud and Agnes Faul Stout; and one grandson, Mark Allen Capone, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Chris Diesi, Ross Broussard, Freddy Stari, Scott Pitre, James "Jim" Faul, and Rayland Faul. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerry Roy, Charlie McKinney, and members of the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home recited by his son-in-law, Deacon Sammy Diesi.
