Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence B. Sandoz Jr. will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas at 1PM. The Rev. Dale Hensarling will conduct the services. Interment will be at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Sandoz, 85, died at Opelousas General Health System at 3:54AM, Sunday.

He practiced law in Opelousas for 60 years. He was a member of the St. Landry Parish and La. State Bar Association and was editor and chief of the La. Law Review. His Senior year was Validictorian of his law class, past President of the Opelousas Kiwanis Club and Opelousas Chamber of Commerce. He was organizer and Chairman of the Board of 1st Acadiana National Bank, was a member of the 1973 Constitutional Convention, he served as a Major in the U.S. Army in WWII under General Patton. He was inducted into the Hall of Honor in the Cadets of the Ole War Skule. Received an AV rating in Martin Dale Hubbell.

He is susrvived by his wife; Mrs. Romayne Plum Fontenot Sandoz of Opelousas, a son; Lawrence B. Larry Sandoz III and his wife Sherry of Opelousas , daughters; Mrs. Karen S Christian and her husband Dr. Van, and Mrs, Suzanne S. Dunbar and her husband Rev. Walt all of Opelousas, a sister Mrs. Gloria and her husband Merick Harmon of Broken Arrow, OK. A sister-in-law; Mrs. Jane Sandoz also of Opelousas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Cecile Boagni Sandoz Sr. and his brother; William C. Sandoz.

The family has requested that visitation be observed on Monday from 3:00PM to 8:00PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00AM till time of service.
