Lawrence Goulas

Opelousas Funeral services will be held for Lawrence Boolon Goulas at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014, in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, La. The Reverend Gary Schexnayder will conduct the service. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette, La.

Mr. Goulas, age 82, a resident of Lafayette, La., died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his residence.

Lawrence worked for Shilling Distributors for 53 years. After retirement he worked for Breauxs Food Mart in Lafayette. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Ezola Marie Courville Goulas, of Lafayette, La. his sons, Joey J. Goulas and wife, Shellie, of Phoenix, Arizona Timothy J. Goulas and wife, Claudia, of Duson, La. his daughter, Jennifer L. Goulas Deville and husband, Stacy, of Carencro, La. his brother, Russell J. Goulas of Breaux Bridge, La. and his sisters, Ruby Courville of Cankton, La. Wanda Menard of Youngsville, La. and Cala Bourque of Lafayette, La. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Chase Goulas, Amanda Fusilier, Desteny Goulas, Joshua Gary, Hailey Goulas, Shyla Goulas, Lex Goulas and 4 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Didier and Edith Melancon Goulas his brothers, Bill Dent, John Goulas and his sister, Florence Dent Navarre.

Visitation will be held at the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made the family.
