Laura Lanclos

Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura Mae Fontenot Lanclos, age 77, will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Mrs. Lanclos, a resident of Washington, La., passed away at 4:16 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System. Mrs. Lanclos was the owner of Lauras Beauty Salon for 25 years. She also was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and taught catechism in Garland, La. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and camping.

She is survived by her son, Patrick Lanclos of Washington, La. her daughters, Debbie Vidrine and husband, Bobby Vidrine, of Ville Platte, La. Pam Ortego and husband, Bobby Ortego, of Port Barre, La. her brother, Alphan Fontenot and wife, Mary Ann, of Ville Platte, La. and her sister, Betty Vidrine of Opelousas, La. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, J.J. Johnson, Trista J. Joubert, Danielle Johnson, Laci Lanclos, Eric Lanclos, Ashley L. Stermer, Jason Lanclos, Josh Lanclos, Brandy O. Young, Erin O. Bertrand, Brandon Ortego, Trevor Griffin and 17 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gervis Lanclos her parents, Hillary B. and Lou Fontenot her son, Gary Lanclos and her brother, Burton Fontenot.

Visitation will be held in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
