Laura Coates

Krotz Springs Services for Laura Ann Coates, age 40, will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Port Barre, La., followed by interment in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Krotz Springs, La. Reverend Benji Richard will conduct the services.

Ms. Coates, a resident of Port Barre, La., passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Opelousas General Health System.

Laura is survived by her son, Jerry Coates, Jr.; her daughter, Brittany Ann Coates and future daughter-in-law, April Martin, of Port Barre, La.; her brothers, Wayne Alexander and wife, Melissa, of Alexandria, La.; William Alexander and wife, Danni of Alexandria, La.; her sisters, Sissy Cannon of Alexandria, La. and Danielle Alexander of Arkansas and her parents, Larry Alexander and Winnie Hobbs Disotell. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and three grandchildren, Amber Coates; Michael Coates and John Richard Coates.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Coates, Sr.

Visiting hours will be observed in the First Baptist Church Hall in Port Barre, La. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. all night until time of service on Thursday.
