Larry Mires

Larry Donald Mires, age 68, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

Larry was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Markus Mires of Murrayville, GA; his daughter, Victoria Koerner of Gainesville, GA; his brothers, Roy "Bubba" Mires of Krotz Springs, LA, Richard Mires of Rockport, TX; his sisters, Yvonne Mires and Bonnie Ford both of Orange, TX, Betty Sue Mires of Krotz Springs, LA and Diana "Bootsie" Pullen of Krotz Springs, LA.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Breanna Muse, Tyler Duvall, Jillian Gioele, Hunter Gioele, Kadience Mariah McCormack, Maximus Kade Mires, Ivy Ann Mires and his great-grandchildren, Ellie-Mae LaRose and Caroline Faith Disotell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert John Mires (Skipper); his mother, Gladys Talley-Mires; his brothers, Charles Mires, Clyde Mires, Carl Wayne Mires "Lil' Skipper"; his sisters, Jeanette Mires, Joyce "Tee" Mires, Ginger Johnson and two granddaughters, Madasine Lois Muse and Madaline Blake Muse.
