Larris Soileau

Washington A Mass of Christian Burial for Larris Soileau will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA with Reverend Albert Nunez as the Celebrant.

Mr. Soileau, age 94, a resident of Washington, LA died on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Opelousas General Health System.

Larris served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for the Town of Washington for 20 years and also Washington State Bank. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Jim Soileau and his wife, Jill, of Opelousas, LA his daughters, Vera Tindol and her husband, Houston, of Lacassine, LA Mary Ross and her husband, John, of Port Allen, LA Lynn Soileau and her husband, Lyle, of Grand Prairie, LA and his brother, Ellis Soileau, of Beaumont, Texas. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and 7 greatgreat grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Martin Soileau his parents, Leo Paul Soileau and Prudence Doucet Ardoin his stepfather, Dougals Ardoin his brother, Nason Soileau and his sister, Brunie Chavous.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers will be, Eric Soileau, Beau Griffin, Howard Tindol, Lyle Soileau, Joseph Savant and John Ross.
