Lance Doucet

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lance Doucet, age 35, at 12:00 noon, on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Bridget Church Cemetery. The Reverend Ted Broussard will be the Celebrant of the Mass.

Lance Doucet, who was a native of Opelousas, LA and a resident of Sunset, LA, died on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Opelousas General Health System.
Lance was a devoted husband, father, and all around family man who cherished the time that he spent with his family. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and watching LSU and New Orleans Saints football. He was employed by Baker Hughes for 7 years as a wire line operator. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Cribbs Doucet son, Bryce Anthony Michael Doucet daughter, Bethany Anne Doucet, all of Sunset father, Tony Doucet of Hesmer, LA mother, Pamela Kral of Sarasota, FL maternal grandmother, Bathilda Vigil of Morgan City, LA aunt, Jennifer Cook uncle, Anthony Vigil Godson, Cain Naquin Goddaughter, Aliyah Poole and his best friend, Jeremy LeJeune.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Michael John Kral maternal grandfather, Gilbert Vigil paternal grandparents, J.C. Doucet and Leticia Thibodeaux and his inlaws, William Jordan Cribbs and Rebecca Anne Gilmore.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy LeJeune, Wesley Rich, David Poole, Cain Naquin, Chad Bullara, Mark Vidrine, David Naquin and Brent Soileau. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul West and Bryce Doucet.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Monday, December 16, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. open all night until service time on Wednesday. A Rosary will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.
