Kenneth Pitre

Prairie Ronde - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Kenneth "Tee" Pitre, age, 74, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, in the Sacred Heart Chapel in Prairie Ronde, LA with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and a rosary being prayed at 10:30 a.m. all in the church. Reverend Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at the church cemetery.

Mr. Pitre, a resident of Covington, LA, previously of Chalmette, LA, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA.

Kenneth served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Kenneth enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Meche Pitre, of Covington, LA; his son, Kevin Michael Pitre of Gonzales, LA; his daughter, Michelle Pitre Chunn and husband, Steven Chunn, of Covington, LA; his brothers, Gerald Pitre of Opelousas, LA; Earl Pitre of Baton Rouge, LA; his sisters, Myra Pitre Gass of Denham Springs, LA and Beverly Pitre Doucet of Grand Prairie, LA. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Taylor Chunn, Garrett Chunn and Justin Gorsch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules P. and Pearl Fontenot Pitre of Opelousas, LA.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Chunn, Garrett Chunn, Justin Gorsch, Gerald Pitre, Earl Pitre and Barry Gass. Honorary pallbearer will be Steven Chunn.
