Kelly Lalonde

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Kelly Sudduth Lalonde, age 44, at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 2nd, 2009 in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church followed by interment in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father Paul Bienvenu will officiate the services.

Ms. Lalonde a native of Port Allen and resident of Opelousas, died on Friday, October 30, 2009 at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, La.

She was born February 21st, 1965 in Port Allen La She attended school there graduating from Brusly high school in 1983. After marrying and having children she moved to Opelousas and had been a resident for many years.

Kellys family was very important to her. She was a warm and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter and niece. She cared for her MawMaw Leona for the last year of her life and loved giving back to her grandmother for all she had given her in her life. Kelly, Nana loved spending time with her granddaughter, Chelsea and they spent many wonderful days playing and laughing together. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was great at it, especially going all out for holidays. Favorites of her family included her pork roast, crawfish etoufee and carrot souffle. She was a true and loyal friend and so, had many friends. She enjoyed being with them; sometimes gathering to eat out, to karaoke, to shop, or to just talk. She was fun-loving and on the go and will be truly missed by so many.

Ms Lalonde worked in various jobs before pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Kelly was an excellent caregiver with young and old alike. She was currently employed at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She enjoyed her job so much and exspecially liked caring for babies, comforting them and helping them to get better.

Survivors include her children; Courtney and Cody and their father Todd Lalonde, her granddaughter; Chelsea Ledoux and her father Dustin; her father Richard Sudduth; her mother; Sandra LaBauve Wyble and step-father Edward and step-brother; David, all of Opelousas. She is also survived by her aunts; Cynthia Michael and her husband Ellis of Baton Rouge, Deborah Roy and her husband Marshall of Baton Rouge and Genie Duhon and her husband, Gervis of Lafayette, first cousins; Christi Sietz, Melissa Reynolds, Marcie Noah, Melanie Loomas, Shelly Trahan and their spouses, cousin and godchild, Brad Duhon and her dear and best friend Alice Ross and Brittany Lalonde and Mary Napoli, godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Andrew Butch Sudduth and Aline Soileau Sudduth, her maternal grandparents; Larry Tyree LaBauve and Leona Lorio LaBauve; her uncle and godfather; Will Sudduth, and her first cousins; Larry and Ricky Michael.

Pallbearers will be; Todd Lalonde, Blake Lalonde, Cody Lalonde, David Wyble, Ellis Michael and Brad Duhon.

The family wishes to express their thanks to all family, friends and co-workers for their support and visits during Kellys illness and especially for the many prayers offered on her behalf.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday November 1st 2009 from 1PM to 9PM and will re-open on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 7PM on Sunday.
