Katherine Wittge

Opelousas - Funeral services will be held for Katherine Moore Wittge at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Wittge, age 75, a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA and more recently Baton Rouge, LA, died on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA.

Katherine was a second grade teacher at Opelousas Catholic School and a longtime resident of Magnolia Ridge Subdivision. She enjoyed crafts, Catholicism, competition, eating boudin and cracklins, casinos and spending time with family and friends. Katherine will especially be remembered for her love of causing mischief and bringing joy to others. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Dottie Wittge Hartman and husband, Richard, of Baton Rouge, LA and her grandchildren, Joshua Hartman and wife, Heather, of Mountain View, CA and Benjamin Hartman of Houma, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wittge and her parents, Warren and Dottie Foreman Moore.

Visitation will be held at the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
