Katherine Richard

OpelousasFuneral services for Katherine F. Richard, age 59, will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment in the St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas, Louisiana. Father Paul Bienvenu will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mrs. Richard, a native and life-long of Opelousas, died on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at 6:50 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mrs. Richard was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas. She worked at OReilly Auto Parts as a delivery driver. Katherine was a loving mother and devoted wife. She will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Richard; her son, Michael Richard; her daughter, Jennifer Richard and her sister, Marie Langlois and her husband, Harold, all of Opelousas.

Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents, Kirby Fontenot and the former Carmen St. Amand and one brother, Kenneth E. Fontenot.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary service will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
