Kasie Reneé Briley

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with The Very Reverend Monsignor DeRouen officiating. Rite of Committal and burial will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited by Deacon Ulysse Joubert at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will re-open on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.

Kasie Reneé Briley, born on November 29, 1983, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away on November 30, 2024. Her journey through life was marked by a vibrant spirit and a deep connection to her roots in Acadiana.

Throughout her life, Kasie was committed to making a positive impact, always seeking ways to uplift those she cared about. Whether through a kind word or an encouraging gesture, she had a unique ability to make others feel valued and loved.

Her children and family were truly the source of her joy, love, and purpose. Kasie and Chris created wonderful memories with their children, whether camping, enjoying the beach, or visiting Disney World. As an educator for 17 years, Kasie's dedication and compassionate spirit in teaching students with special needs left a lasting impact. Her legacy will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her passing is a great loss to all who knew her, and as we remember Kasie, we celebrate her life and the light she brought into this world. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of many who will continue to honor her legacy of love and kindness.

Kasie is survived by her husband, Christopher Chelette; her daughter, Olivia Camille Chelette; her sons, Thomas James Chelette and Samuel Joseph Chelette; her parents, Charles “Chuck” and Karen Briley; her sister, Alycee Wheaton and her husband, Devin; her grandmother, Isabel L. Marks; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlton Carter and Lea Carter; her godparents, Cliff Briley and Stacey Fontenot; her brothers-in-law, Michael Chelette II, Graham Chelette and Charlton “Gil” Carter II; her Godchildren, Cody Lane Fontenot and Juliette Wheaton; her nephews, Waylon Wheaton and Leo Wheaton; her niece, Aspen Chelette; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cecile Rose Chelette; her grandparents, Ryan J. Marks, Theresa Briley and James C. Briley; and her father-in-law, Michael James Chelette.

Pallbearers will be Michael Chelette, Devin Wheaton, Cody Fontenot, Joey Boone, Dustin Roberts and Jared Briley.
