Karen Prudhomme

Opelousas - Funeral services for Karen Prudhomme, the former Karen Louise Ardoin, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. The Reverend Rick Pavlu, Pastor of The Church Point Pentecostals church will conduct the services. Interment will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 in the Bellevue Memorial Park cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Ms. Prudhomme, age 58, died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Courtyard Manor Retirement and Assisted Living in Lafayette, LA, surrounded by her loving and caring family.

Ms. Prudhomme was a lifelong resident of the Acadiana area who ran a successful cosmetology business and gift shop in Opelousas. Late in life she returned to school and earned a teaching certificate and taught cosmetology at Remington College until her illness. She loved many people especially her son Jeremy and her daughter, Kelly and she reserved a special place in her heart for her beloved granddaughter, Skylar. Ms. Prudhomme will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Lanclos of Carencro; son, Jeremy Lanclos of Opelousas, LA; brothers, Clifford Ardoin Jr. wife Dani of Opelousas, LA, Dennis Ardoin of Lafayette, Charles Ardoin wife Jean of Lafayette, LA, Shannon Ardoin and wife Trina of Port Barre, Christopher Ardoin and wife Angie of Church Point, LA; sisters, Loretta Stubblefield of Lafayette, LA, Charlotte Doyle and husband Jim of Abbeville, LA, Lessie Credeur and husband Clint of Sunset, LA, Molly Ardoin of Lafayette, LA; the father of her two children, Terry Lanclos and one grandchild, Skylar Gueniot.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Evelyn Ardoin; her sister, Sheila Walsh; and her former husband, Keith Prudhomme.

The family has requested visitation be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Miles Perret Cancer Services, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Rd, Unit 101, Lafayette, LA, 70508-6143, (337) 984-1920, in Karen's name.
