Julia Barker

Melville Funeral services will be held for Julia Doo Doo Ann Frame Barker at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, in the First Pentecostal Church of Melville. Brother Samuel Hamm and Reverend Dallas Shuff will conduct the service. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Barker, age 83, a resident of Bayou Rouge, died on Monday, November 3, 2014, at her daughters residence in Melville, LA.

Julia was a member of the Bayou Rouge United Pentecostal Church for many years. She enjoyed fishing, camping and crocheting. Throughout her life she raised her family and always enjoyed spending her time with them. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick P.T. Hood Barker, Sr., of Bayou Rouge, LA her sons, Patrick Barker, Jr. of Palmetto, LA Kenny Barker, Sr. of Melville, LA Jerry Barker, Sr. of Melville, LA Russell Barker and wife, Sandra, of Melville, LA her daughters, Earline Duvall of Melville, LA Effie Hilda Barker of Melville, LA Julia Barker of Krotz Springs, LA Rose Marie Quirk and husband, Gerry, of Opelousas, LA three sisters, three brothers and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simpson and Annie Frame her daughters, Brenda Barker, Sylvia Barker Tate and her grandchildren, Cecil Duvall, Pervice Duvall, Brandon Barker and Patricia Barker.

Visitation will be held in the First Pentecostal Church in Melville on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Barker, Sr., Pat Barker, Jr., Russell Barker, Jerry Barker, Kevin Pontieaux and Pat Barker, III.
