Opelousas — Funeral services for Judy Quebedeaux Jones will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Rev. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the services. Rite of Committal and interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, LA.
The family requests visiting hours be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judy Quebedeaux Jones, on Monday, May 1, 2023, in Lafayette. She was a native of Port Barre and a resident of Lafayette.
Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the camp. She loved her dogs, enjoyed gardening and working with plants. She also enjoyed listening to Cajun and Swamp Pop music. Judy was a very independent woman and could do anything she put her mind to. She was everyone’s “mom” and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her two sons, Joseph Kirtley “Joey” Jones, Jr. residing in New Brighton, PA and Jonathan Earl Jones, and his wife, Monica, both residing in Stockholm, Sweden; three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanno A. Quebedeaux of Grand Coteau and Anna Mae Kimball of Washington, LA; her husband, Joseph Kirtley “Kirt” Jones, Sr. of Grand Prairie; one brother, and one sister.
