Juanita Faye Ellis Wiltz, beloved mother, grandmother, nannie, and friend passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Throughout her life, Juanita and her beloved husband Dan founded Midwest Cooling Tower Services Inc. in 1984 as they raised their three sons, with Juanita handling the accounting side of the business. Juanita’s active role in the business would continue for 30 years in the company until her retirement. Juanita’s passion for travel led her on countless trips around the world, sharing this passion with family and friends. Her favorite being trips to Alaska to accompany Dan. Upon her retirement she opened a quilt shop for which she shared her love of quilting with her friends new and old. Juanita was a faithful and longtime parishioner of St Anthony of Padua in Krotz Springs where she was a member of the altar society. She served her many Godchildren with honor as she would attend various milestones in each of their lives. She also loved gardening, crafting floral arrangements, collecting butterflies, sewing, beading, and singing in the church choir.
Juanita was a dedicated wife to Daniel Alfred Wiltz Sr. until his passing. Their bond of love was something to behold, filled with many adventures and years of hard work. Together, they raised three sons who they were both so immensely proud of and loved by.
Juanita is survived by her sons Daniel Alfred Wiltz Jr. and wife Jennifer, Paul Edward Wiltz and wife Michelle, and Shane Christopher Wiltz and wife Alitha. Grandchildren: Aaron Paul Wiltz, Adam Luke Wiltz, Arthur John Wiltz, Amaryllis Ann Wiltz, Alex Daniel Wiltz, Anna Claire Wiltz, and Lauren Renee Wiltz.
Juanita is proceeded in death by her husband Daniel Alfred Wiltz Sr., her parents Lawrence and Jeanne Ellis and her brother James Ronald Ellis.
The visitation will be held in Opelousas, LA at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home (2845 South Union Street, Opelousas, LA 70570) in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Krotz Springs, La. at 2:00 p.m. with The Very Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen and Father Henry Antony will be celebrating the Mass. Rite of Committal and Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Honored to be Juanita’s pallbearers are: Aaron Paul Wiltz, Adam Luke Wiltz, Alex Daniel Wiltz, Arthur John Wiltz, Michael Scott Ellis and Brad Jason Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be: Don Harmon, Howard “Woody” Wiltz and Walter Kimble.
