Josephine Richard

Funeral services for Josephine L. Richard will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with the interment in Bellevue Memorial Park in the Garden of Matthew. The Rev. Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

She loved taking care of her grandchildren, being with her friends and family and playing cards.

Ms. Josie is survived by her sons; Ronald Wayne Richard and his wife Patti of San Angelo, Texas, Robert Eugene Richard Sr. and his wife Mary of Opelousas, Joseph Avie Richard, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Grand Prairie, Delbert Richard and his wife Laura of Opelousas and Jimmy Richard and his wife Kim of Opelousas, a daughter; Katherine R. Thibodeaux and her husband Kirt of Opelousas, a brother, Leo Coonie Charles Lalonde and his wife, Tessie of Washington, sisters; Norma Lee Stelly and her husband Simon of Leonville and Helen Wingate of Fayetteville NC. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents; Leonce and Louise Anselm

Lalonde, her husband; Joseph Avie Richard Sr., a grandson; Tracy Scott Richard, a great-grandson; Caleb Billedeaux, a daughter; Mary Katherine Richard, brothers; Leonce Lalonde Whitey Jr., Raymond Lalonde, Clara Belle Bourgeois and Ronald Lalonde Felo.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shaun Fontenot, Kevin Richard, Nick Richard, Kyle Thibodeaux, Robert Richard, Jr. and Phillip Richard. Gift bearers will be her granddaughters.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
