Opelousas - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 for Joseph H. Zeringue, Jr. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Reverend Dean Rydbeck will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

From a young age, Joe's love for music was influential to everyone that crossed his path in life. He has shared the stage with many great musicians and always enjoyed sharing his memories with his children and grandchildren. His talent and kind spirit, along with his love and passion for music will always be remembered. Though his talent as an Architectural Designer, he blessed many families and enhanced the landscape of our area with his work. The greatest gift that he gave the world was his faith in God, which transferred into a deep love of family and friends. He taught his children by example, how to truly love by the way he treated his beloved wife, Diane. His children were blessed to call him father.

On Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. he completed his work here and was called to enter into the presence of his Lord and Savior. We are thankful for the time that God gave us to spend with him and while he will be deeply missed here, we trust in our Lord's glorious plan and rejoice in him being reunited with his Creator and loved ones that have gone before him. We would like to thank you all for your prayers and ask you to join us in remembering him and celebrating his amazing life.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Kendall Zeringue; son, Joseph Herman Zeringue, III and his wife, Brandi; daughters, Stephanie Zeringue Olivier and Wendy Louise Zeringue Collart and her husband, Franco; brother, Lennie Zeringue and his wife, Carol; and grandchildren, Simone Renee' Olivier, Angelique Ame'e Olivier, Charles Henri Olivier, Marguerite Mone't Olivier, Robert Emilio Collart, Danielle Elizabeth Collart and Connor Joseph Zeringue.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Herman Zeringue, Sr. and Lucille Gautreaux Zeringue.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. It will resume on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Lennie Zeringue, Joseph Herman Zeringue, III, Henri Olivier, Robert Collart, Connor Zeringue, Franco Collart, Raymond Hargroder, Jr. and Wesley Kennison.
