Joseph Powers, Jr.

Opelousas A gathering of remembrance and a memorial service for Joseph James Powers, Jr. will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. in the LaFondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend James Brady will officiate the services.

Joseph James Powers, Jr., age 63, who was a native and former resident of Opelousas, LA, died on September 10, 2013.

Mr. Powers was a welder by trade and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 60 in New Orleans. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Jonathan Powers and wife Jeanne of Marrero, LA daughter, Madison Powers of Franklin, LA sister, Betty Stelly and husband Euney of New Orleans grandchild, Elle Powers, and a brotherinlaw, Lloyd Andrus of Lafayette.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Joe Powers, Sr. and Mary Hellen Hopkins Powers and a sister, Janet Andrus.
