Joseph Miller

Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joseph Lawrence Miller, age 73, at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA. Reverend Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at the church mausoleum.

Mr. Miller, a resident of Leonville, LA, died on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Opelousas General Health System.

Joseph worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors especially his time he spent hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Merle Kidder Miller; his daughter, Danica Stelly (Nikki); his brothers, Ray Miller, Harold (Carol) Miller, Daly (Linda) Miller, Lee Miller; his sisters, Gloria (Ron) Bezet, Verna (George) Stout, Delores Guillory, Beverly Thibodeaux and 3 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Verna Stelly Miller; his brother, Clifton Miller, Jr. and his sisters, Anna Lee Trahan and Patsy Gail Miller.

Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Terry Stelly, Jason Hebert, Charles Hebert, Nicholas Miller, Josh Bezet and Terry Trahan.
