Joseph Mcclelland

Opelousas-Funeral services for Mr. Joseph E. McClelland, age 90, will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Paul Bienvenu will conduct the services.

Mr. McClelland, a resident of Opelousas, La., died on February 11, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. McClelland retired after twenty years with the Opelousas Police Department and he also worked for Dixie Glass for fifteen years.

Mr. McClelland was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Woodman of the World and also the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. McClelland is survived by his son, Dale McClelland and his wife, Florence, of Lafayette, La.

Mr. McClelland was preceded in death by his wife, Marie B. McClelland; his parents, Earnest and Bridget McClelland; his sister, Clara Lafleur and his brothers, James McClelland and Henry Segar.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, February 12, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
