Joseph Marks

Opelousas Funeral services for Joseph D. Marks will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011, at 12:00 pm at LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas with the entombment in the St. Landry Catholic Church Mausoleum. Rev. James Brady will conduct the services.

Mr. Marks, age 81, a resident of Opelousas died Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 35 years as an inspector with the Louisiana Department of Agriculture.

Survivors include his wife Rita Doucet Marks of Opelousas, son Keith Marks and wife Julie of Opelousas, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was his mother Lydia Marks and a son Harrison Thomasee Marks.

The family has requested visitation be held on Thursday April 21, 2011 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will reopen on Friday from 9:00 am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Friday morning at 11:45 am followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
