Joseph Lanclos

Leonville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joseph Edward Ed Lanclos, age 82, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, La. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Leo the Great Church Mausoleum with Reverend Ken Domingue officiating.

Ed, a resident of Leonville, La., died on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, in Leonville, La.

He was a member of Louisiana Farm Bureau and a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. His passion was farming and in 1987 he was named Farmer of the Year. He enjoyed having his morning coffee with his fellow farmers and joking around. He especially loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Essie Stelly Lanclos, of Leonville, La. his two sons, George Lee Lanclos and wife, Carolyn of Notleyville, La. Jerry Edward Lanclos and wife, Kathy, of Leonville, La. his daughter, Dianne Lanclos Bolfer and husband, Wayne, of Port Barre, La. his brothers, Edwin Lanclos of Covington, La. J.C. Lanclos of Meraux, La. Lawrence Lanclos of Cecilia, La. and his sisters, Grace Aymond and Elsie Pontiff both of Arnaudville, La. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tonya Roberie and husband, Dutch Damien Lanclos Alyse Lanclos Keri Barousse and husband, James Trenton Bolfer and wife, Erin Chastity Barron and husband, Andy Tracy Lanclos and seven greatgrandchildren, Cameron, Camille and Cain Roberie Averie Lanclos Eli Bolfer Lilly Barousse and Evan Barron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clement and Aline Zerangue Lanclos and his brother, Avie Lanclos.

Visiting hours will be observed in the LafondArdoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
