Joseph Fontenot

Opelousas-Funeral services for Joseph Herman Fontenot, Jr., age 39, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park. The Reverend Tommy Faulk, Pastor of the First Assembly of Lafayette will officiate the services.

Mr. Fontenot, a resident of Opelousas, died on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 12:58 p.m. in the Opelousas General Health System.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Ann Gautreaux Fontenot of Opelousas; six children, Ashleigh Fontenot Breaux and husband Randall, Eric, C.J. , Gabbie , Trent, and Christian Fontenot all of Opelousas; his mother, Linda Sue Senn Fontenot of Ville Platte; brother, James Fontenot and wife Priscilla of Ville Platte; two sisters, Tina Burnett and husband Ricky of Rose Pine, LA and Rebecca Fontenot of Ville Platte; his mother-in-law, Bevelyn Gautreaux of Opelousas; sister-in-laws, Clara Gautreaux Marks and husband Vernon of Opelousas, Roxane Gautreaux- Carte and husband Sammy of Crestview, Fla., and Tammy Gautreaux Bellard and husband Ronald of Opleousas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

He will be missed by all including his special friends Carolyn and Pap Fontenot, Jason, Cheryl and Sarah Vickers and Mr. Wilson Bourque.

Joe also had a special connection with two of his nieces Lauren Marks Hulion and Amanda Carte.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Herman Fontenot, Sr.; foster father, Curley Koyo Fontenot; foster mother, Verline Fontenot; step- father, Louis Blanc Fontenot and his father-in-law, Ewell Joseph Gautreaux.

Mr. Fontenots pallbears will be Eric Fontenot, Ronald Bellard, Sammy Carte, James Fontenot, C.J. Fontenot and Coady Fontenot.

Visiting will be held in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas starting on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 11:00- 9:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until service time.
