Joseph Deville

Opelousas-Funeral services for Joseph Junior Deville, age 74, will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church, followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas, La. Father Austin Leger will conduct the service.

Mr. Deville, a resident of Opelousas, La., died at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas, La.

Mr. Deville was a member of the Humble Cottage Lodge 19 F. A.M. for 42 years and also was a member of the Gordy Chapter 32 since 1970.

Mr. Deville is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Deville of Opelousas, La.; his son, Donald Ray Deville and wife Denise of Opelousas, La.; his daughters, Catherine D. LeBlanc and husband, Mark, of Opelousas, La.; Mona Faye Vandervoort and husband, Alan, of Littleton, Colorado; Patricia Ann Richard and husband, Johnny, of Clarksville, Tennessee; his step father, Pierre Martin of Opelousas; his brother, John Tally Deville of Port Barre, La. and his sister, Rose Burleigh and husband, Charles, of Sunset, La. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, John Deville, Jeremy Deville, Joshua Richard, Daniel Richard, Lacey Richard, Tiffany Deville, Casey Vandervoort, Matthew Vandervoort, Nicholas Vandervoort, Trevor Vandervoort, Katlyn LeBlanc; two great grandchildren, Kameron Deville and Chloe Deville; one step-grandchild, Kimberly Cross and husband, Dwayne and two step-great-grandchildren, Jacob Cross and Jordon Cross.

Mr. Deville is preceded in death by his parents, Dolzie Deville and Amelie Guillory Martin; his son, Larry James Deville; his brother, Harry Lee Deville and his sister, Ella Mae D. Hymel.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
