Funeral services for Joseph Curley J.C. Cary will be held Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 11:00am in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home. The interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.
Joseph Curley J.C Cary, age 78 passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 25, 2009. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years Anna Lois Labbe Cary. He was born on December 23, 1930 to the late Valerie Cary and Lucille Rivette Cary and was the brother of Marie Cary Boudreaux of Lewisburg, Jeanne Cary Bergeron of Alexandria and the late Valerie Cary Jr. He was the father of Phyllis Cary Hebert and husband Farrel of Baton Rouge, Johnny Cary and wife Peggy of Washington, Neil Cary and wife Sharon of Covington and Marilyn Cary Starks and husband Perry of Baton Rouge and had eight grandchildren. J. C. was a lifelong resident of Opelousas and Washington, was active in the Knights of Columbus Council 3409, a 4th Degree Knight and served the community through his machining and welding business Cary Iron Works. He was a self-taught engineer who could design, build and repair almost anything no matter what material it was made of. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
Visitation will be Monday January 26, 2009 from 5:30pm until 9:00pm and Tuesday from 9:00am until time of services. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00pm.
