Opelousas-Funeral services for Johnny Granger, age 60, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by internment in the Prairie Ronde Baptist Cemetery. The Reverend David Fultz will officiate the services.
Johnny Granger, who was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Terrytown, LA, died at 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the College Station Medical Center in Bryan, TX.
Mr. Granger was a Vietnam Veteran having served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a hard working man who enjoyed working with computers and other forms of technology.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Loveless Granger of Terrytown, LA; mother, Thelma Cormier Granger of Lawtell; sons, Brian S. Granger and wife Lori of Biloxi, Mississippi and Chris Loveless of Seattle, WA.; daughters, Angela Granger Gilmore of Kuna, Idaho and Wendee Miller and husband Tommy of Marietta, GA; two sisters, Geraldine Granger Vasseur and husband, Ronald of Prairie Ronde and Martha Granger Brown and husband Elton, Jr. of Opelousas; four grandchildren, Amanda Gilmore, Waylon Gilmore, Katie Granger and Morgan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Reverend Truman Lee Granger and a sister, Laura Lynn Granger Lejeune.
Visitation will be held at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. and will re-open at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday until time of service time.
