John Stephenson

A gathering of remembrance for John Claude Stephenson, age 75, will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 4:00 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will lead the rosary.
Mr. Stephenson, a native and resident of Beggs, LA died on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Lafayette General Health System.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he retired after 21 years of service and was a Vietnam veteran. After his military career, John worked and retired as an electrical foreman in the oilfield. Both of his careers enabled him to travel and enjoy many exotic places throughout the world. John loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Naphaporn Stephenson of Beggs, LA daughter, Helen Stephenson Pursell and husband Bill of Nashville, TN sisters, Kathleen Deprimo of Opelousas and Ann Ruffino and husband Charles of Beggs, LA three grandchildren, Chloe, Ian and Allison, all of Nashville, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stephenson and Jacque Leatherman Stephenson and a brother, Bill James.
