John Stelly

Opelousas- Funeral services for Mr. John F. Stelly, 70, will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, followed by interment at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Stelly died on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at his residence.

John played the guitar and fiddle for many different Cajun bands in the area.

John was survived by his wife, Molly Benoit Stelly of Opelousas; 3 stepsons, Michael Todd Robert of Opelousas, Brandon Scott Robert of Opelousas, and Kevin Blaine Robert of Opelousas; 3 stepdaughters, Tricia Lynn Robert Ardoin of St. Landry, Kimberly Dawn Robert Bernard of St. Landry and Racheal Ann Robert Mouton; a brother, Harold Stelly of Houston, TX; 15 grand children and 1 great-grandchild.

Mr. Stelly was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elvie Miller Stelly; his grand parents and a sister in law, Elba Stelly.

Visiting will be held at LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 5:00-9:00pm and will re-open at 8:00am on Saturday. A rosary service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday.
