John Sanders

Services for John A. Sanders, age 81,will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2008 in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. First Baptist Church pastor Chad Bolfa will officiate services with the assistance of Reverend Don Dissotel, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church. Graveside service will be held in the Concord Cemetery in Oak Grove, La. at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2008.

Mr. Sanders, a native of Oak Grove, LA and longtime resident of Krotz Springs was a retired diesel mechanic and member of the Operating Engineers 406. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and horses.

Survivors include his wife; Helen June Sanders of Krotz Springs, sons; Brian Sanders and his wife Darla of Krotz Springs, John Michael Sanders and wife Rachel of Krotz Springs and Mitchell Sanders and wife Sheree of Krotz Springs, daughters; Belinda Hill and husband Joe of Leonville, Diana Ratcliff and husband David of Oak Grove, La., Beverly Sanders of Vidor, Tx., Dolores Sanders of Krotz Springs and Denise Kimball and husband Toby of Krotz Springs, sister; Maggie Tubbs of West Monroe, La., 21 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Wilbur and Vivian Sanders, brother; Wilbur Bonner Sanders, Jr. and a sister; Rosa Ashcraft.

Mr. Sanders grandsons will act as his pallbearers. They are Greg Ratcliff, Brandon Dupree, Dewayne Hill, Marshal Ratcliff, Josh Sanders, Jeremy Ratcliff, and Steven Dupree; honorary pallbearers will be Justin Hill and Jarrett Sanders

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home from 4:00- 11:00 p.m. and reopen on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.

Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Krotz Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
